Illwill
William Okafor, professionally known as illwill, is a multifaceted Nigerian rapper, producer, and sound engineer who blends technical precision with raw creative energy.
A graduate of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Lagos and Sound Production from the SAE Institute in Cape Town, illwill bridges the gap between scientific discipline and musical artistry. His journey began in 2009 with the debut single "Let’s Go" featuring Ms. Chief, followed by the reflective 2010 release "My Life."
A cornerstone of the progressive collective The Roots Muvment, illwill has spent over a decade refining his craft. His prolific output includes the critically acclaimed The illternative EP (2013), over 10 instrumental beat tapes, and various high-profile remixes. In 2019, he solidified his status in the industry with his debut studio album, The Goodwill of illwill, a 10-track project featuring collaborations with Clay, Paybac, Pelli, and Muno.
Beyond the microphone, illwill is a sought-after audio engineer specializing in mixing, live sound, and voice-over production. Whether he is dropping hard-hitting singles like "You Get Mouth" or engineering for others, his objective remains constant: creating resonant, high-fidelity music that strikes a chord with every listener.
